With VTNZ Roadside Assistance we provide a comprehensive roadside service that’s great value for money. No matter where you are, a phone call is all it takes to get you back on the road, or to get you and your vehicle to a repairer.

VTNZ Roadside Assistance provides 24 hours / 7 days a week callout service for:

• Battery jumpstart
• ‘Locked in key’ recovery or spare key delivery
• Flat tyre – fitting the spare wheel
• Emergency fuel delivery (excludes cost of fuel)
• Minor emergency repairs
• Towing to the nearest repairer
• Technical advice over the phone
• Location/map assistance if you are lost
• Urgent message relay, to connect you to family members in the event of a breakdown or accident
• Accident assistance – unlike other breakdown providers, if you have an accident we can organise vehicle towing (excludes tow cost), notify emergency services, and provide advice.

Go to our online shop to purchase Roadside Assistance on our secure site using your credit card. Or, if you prefer, you can call into any of our testing stations nationwide to buy in person.

VTNZ offers a range of cover to suit your motoring needs.

6-months cover (1 call-out) costs only:

• $28 when purchased with your VTNZ WoF
• $30 when purchased online
• $32 when purchased in the station (without a WoF)

12-months cover (with 3 call-outs) is just:

• $59 Annual Roadside Assistance
• $87 Premium Roadside Assistance which has all the benefits of our Annual Roadside Assistance plus additional benefits when your vehicle is more than 100km from home.

We also offer discounts for multi-vehicle cover and renewals:

• 10% multi-vehicle discount off each vehicle
• 5% discount if renewing

If you already have breakdown cover, we can start your VTNZ Roadside Assistance cover when that expires, and align it to your WoF expiry date for next time, making it easy!

Unlike some other policies, it doesn’t matter who is driving the car, you are covered. If you sell your vehicle and purchase another one, please contact VTNZ Roadside Assistance so we can update your policy with the new vehicle information.

The VTNZ Roadside Assistance service is provided by NZ Roadside Assistance Ltd, which has an extensive network of more than 1200 recovery vehicles covering the North and South Islands of New Zealand including Waiheke Island only.

Please see the attached policy brochure and privacy policy document for the nitty gritty info but also be aware that:

• There is a 24 hour stand down period after the purchase date of the VTNZ Roadside Assistance policy before it becomes an active policy.

VTNZ Roadside Assistance excludes;

• VTNZ Roadside Assistance excludes towing for trucks and vehicles over 3.5 tonnes and over 5.5m in length.
• VTNZ Roadside Assistance excludes vehicles that get 'bogged' stuck in mud or rocky terrain which is off the road, as heavy salvage is required to retrieve the vehicle. We will assist in the event of a bogged vehicle however it will be at the owners expense.  
• VTNZ Roadside Assistance excludes fuel delivery when a vehicle has run out of fuel and is located at the owners property.
• VTNZ Roadside Assistance cover is available across New Zealand (North and South Islands), including Waiheke Island only.
• Discounts for multi-vehicle and renewals only apply to Annual Roadside Assistance and Premium Roadside Assistance with a 10% multi-vehicle discount off each vehicle and a 5% discount if renewing.
• WoF+VTNZ Roadside Assistance for 6 months cover can only be purchased with a VTNZ WoF. If the call-out has been used prior to your next WoF, and you would like to renew your Roadside Assistance cover before your next WoF, you will need to choose either the Annual or Premium Roadside Assistance for 12 months cover.
