In conjunction with technology partners Speedscan, VTNZ has launched an accounts portal for credit account holders to use. This portal went live on 1 June 2009. The portal will bring VTNZ’s accounts service in to the online world and mean productivity benefits for customers signing up to the new service.
Credit Controller Dorothy Grover said that “the development has been in the pipeline for awhile but it was only recently that improved technology has made the business case supportable.” She also noted that a number of customers had been eagerly awaiting the implementation of the site as it supported the drive by a number of organisations to go paperless, improving productivity and reducing their carbon footprint.
The regular monthly invoices/statements for each customer account will in future be generated in an electronic format and hosted on a purpose built website. Immediately following the generation of invoices/statements customers will receive an email containing a reminder and a link to the VTNZ Accounts Portal.
After logging in customers will be presented with a listing of all their invoices and statements generated within the last 31 days.
Individual documents can be opened for viewing in PDF format, emailed, printed or downloaded to excel. A simple tick of the box beside a number of documents joins them in to one file for easy manipulation.
The site will be available from 7am – 7pm, seven days per week, enabling customers to access their account information at a time that suits them. After 31 days documents are removed and placed in a searchable archive also available via the same logon.
Mrs Grover reiterated the concept was intended as a win win for both the customer and VTNZ. Any customers not already joined up for the service can do so by emailing their customer account number and preferred email address to accounts@vtnz.co.nz
