VTNZ used this webpage from 2007-2009 to update the industry with information regarding the Heavy Vehicle Brake Rule (Rule 32015).  Press releases were posted (see below).

Testing to the Government's new laden brake test requirements started on 1st December 2008 and was progressively rolled out across New Zealand with the final testing stations completed and testing to the new laden brake test by June 2009.

The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA, formerly Land Transport NZ) issued a letter in September 2008 regarding what needs to be done to prepare your vehicle to ensure it can be tested quickly and efficiently to the new Rule.

The letter is attached below along with the September factsheet.  Please read this important information.

The Brake Testing Process

The new process now involves the testing of partially laden and simulated partially laden vehicles.  The process for doing this differs by the physical layout of the station or outwork location, as well as by whether our customers choose to bring their vehicle in unladen (most customers preference as well as our own preference) or partially laden.

Please see the flowcharts below for an indication of how the testing will take place.
